Restoration

The interior and exterior of the church underwent a major restoration in 1994-95. However things didn't work out on the exterior as planned, and we have had to "re-restore" the exterior of the building from 2008-10. The congregation has continuously over many years raised funds for the projects, and this continues. -Thanks be to God for the strength and courage of members of the congregation.

Funds have been sought from Historic Scotland and Heritage Lottery Fund, for which we are grateful for. The community, through "The Mile(s) of Pennies have also given to the church, and each week people come in with their small change, all to add to the restoration project. Thank you.

The church is currently encircled with fencing which is a big improvement on the scaffolding and netting. However, having been in darkness for 18 months, we now have natural light coming in, which highlights the colour of the beautiful stained-glass windows. The colour of the building will be a "creamy" colour in contrast to the previous ochre colour, and seems to have withstood the dreadful winter weather we have experienced. At this time we are waiting on the finishing touches and the weather to be dry!!!
